The Striker / The Tracker

Choosing the right book editor can be a challenge. Every book requires a thorough edit before being submitted for publication. Hiring a professional book editor and proofreader may be the best investment you can make for your writing career. With that investment, you can turn your book publishing dream into a reality.

More and more writers are entering the self-publishing world. However, for many, their dreams of becoming self-published authors are halted due to expensive book editing rates. This is where Strikethrough comes in. Strikethrough is dedicated to offering professional book editing and proofreading services at the best rate.

When you choose Strikethrough, you choose:

- Affordability

- Quality

- Speed

- Satisfaction Guarantee

A professional book editor and proofreader will take care of all aspects of your manuscript. Self-publishing is a means to getting your book to the market faster. Therefore, you will receive your manuscript fully and impeccably edited within a short timeframe, in addition to any editor notes and suggestions.

Strikethrough offers two types of editing packages: The Striker and The Tracker.

Refer to the details below to read about what each package offers, and to decide which option is the best one for you.

Lay back and relax. You will receive your manuscript back with all changes already implemented in the document. You can submit it to the publisher right away without the hassle of going through the document again to accept or reject the changes made. This is the cheaper editing method  (Integration method) where you place your complete trust in the editor.

The Striker package includes:

1. Proofreading:

  • Going beyond “spellcheck” to catch errors a computer might miss.

  • Ensuring zero grammatical errors, usually after a document has already been edited.

2. Line Editing:

  • Addresses the creative content, writing style, and language use at the sentence and paragraph level. The purpose of a line edit is not to comb your manuscript for errors – rather, a line edit focuses on the way you use language to communicate your story to the reader. Is your language clear, fluid, and pleasurable to read? Does it convey a sense of atmosphere, emotion, and tone? Do the words you’ve chosen convey a precise meaning, or are you using broad generalizations and clichés?

THE STRIKER

You will receive your manuscript back with noted changes and suggestions all over your document. This is the more expensive option  (Track Changes method) as the editor will have to take the time to point out the mistakes and write her comments. You will have to go through the whole document again to accept or reject each change that has been made.

The Tracker package includes:

3. Substantive/Structural Editing:

  • Clarifying and/or reorganizing a manuscript for content and structure. Changes may be suggested to or drafted for the author, and may include negotiating changes.
