QUOTES & RAMBLES

Nature is my inspiration. I see. I reflect. I write.

  • In the abstract and concrete senses, we carry the universe within us, do we not? We are certainly an intrinsic part of it, for it is in constant communication with us. Flowing through our atomic realms and molecular zones are elements that are key to projecting a mirrored reflection of what is within. So let us contain the blaze and calm the raging infernos. Let us hold our universe steady so that our stars may align properly. Let us safeguard the universe we hold within. The Universe Within: A Journey of Thoughts (Part 1)

  • Just as we are connected to the universe, so is the universe connected to us. Amidst the wild movements of the cosmos and its planetary collisions, there is a gravitational pull of earthly souls across a sea of stars. Regardless of the galactic dynamics, when our collective energy is found to be vibrating on the same frequency, we become a constellation of hearts strung together and thus, the universe becomes a projection of our souls. The Universe Within: A Journey of Thoughts (Part 2)

  • In the dimension of the imaginary we create and carry a multitude of worlds within us, so that when we feel the need to pull out of one we can plunge ourselves into the other. The Universe Within: A Journey of Thoughts (Part 3)

  • When day meets night and night meets day, a beautiful encounter occurs between the two. In their fleeting moments, they work together to grab a box of pastels and cast its colors across the skies, as if to give the enchanted beholder something to hold on to when their days turn dark and their nights need light.

  • For our sights to grow sharper, we need to practice the art of seeing close things from a distant view and seeing distant things from a close view. Our fields of vision can change the way our mind comprehends things.

  • Is it that there is no light without shadows, or no shadows without light? Are we shaded by shadows, or shadowed by shades? Do we capture the darkness, or does the darkness capture us? In highlighting contrasts the tonal range of our perspective shifts.

  • Take a leap of faith... Go off track, create your own path, and trust your instincts as you travel across fields of experience with your goals in sight. Success is metered by self-fulfillment, and that alone makes the leap worthwhile.

  • There is this concept of watching, and then there is the art of seeing. Become a see-er. See the things you look at with all your senses. The art of seeing lies in comprehension of the eyes, understanding of the mind, and connection of the soul. Look to see the essence of what you are looking at. Go close, look closer...

  • We are all travelers, travelers of and to places of no return. With the pedals in motion we coast down hills, across bridges, and different walkways of life. We leave and we carry with the rise and fall of paths, feeling the same and yet not the same. Through the privilege of movement, we lose ourselves and find ourselves along the way. We are all travelers of a journey fated to be.

  • Perhaps that is the appeal of the outdoors, when the rapidity of thoughts can be stabilized and the elements ground one in a place where time – if only for a little while – can be stilled, without any concern but for the sun’s position in the sky.

  • In the meeting of sun, sea and soul, every element of nature seems to converge into a single energy flow, creating a togetherness of what was once separate.

  • Ask, and you will find a supportive hand on your shoulder. Speak, and you will receive a listening ear. Listen, and you will hear the sounds of friendship. Under this sunset just reflect upon all the rights in sight, for in this scene there are no wrongs. You see strangers turning friends in this vast sea, hear the echoes of laughter, feel the warmth of moments cemented in time. There is a horizon that foretells a comma and not a full stop.  Just come closer...

  • There are many different paths on our journey to the mountaintop. We encounter short paths that put us ahead in the game and longer paths that are grounds for patience. Smooth paths propel us forward and rocky paths forewarn slippery slopes, entreating us to backtrack and reassess. By navigating various routes, the journey itself ultimately becomes the goal. That is when the mist clears up and the world comes back into sharp relief.

  • It’s in the earthly tales of companionship that the most profound actions are those that reflect unity. Through high and low tides, stormy and tranquil seas, sinking ships and safe harbors, togetherness complements the stories. At the end of the day, what counts is when the steady rhythms held within beat as one.

  • Behold the turtle. In today's fast-paced world, I think there are times in which we must rein in the need for speed and go at our own pace. Sometimes, it's not about the endgame - it's about the journey.

  • Just like the tides, there are times when you fall, but then there are times when you rise to great heights. Your flow depends on which forces you allow to affect you.

  • I find nature to have such an interesting persona, if you can coin it in that way. Its elements beckon you to come closer, scrutinize further and reflect with wonder.

  • Only you can steer the wheel to your chosen destination. You could either let the waves get to you and stand in your way, or you could work to control the right elements in order to sail onwards smoothly.

  • The road. It's beckoning... A new world lying in wait. A road is a road until you answer its call. Once it's seen, it beckons you to go with its curves and junctions, to take each turn in earnest and stride on. Just one step, and then nothing is the same.

  • When we lose ourselves in a moment with someone, it becomes a moment made more memorable by the companionship.  With each passing one, those moments find themselves compiled into an album of beautiful memories.  And maybe, just maybe, those small moments of wonder write themselves into our lives so as to remind us that there are many things worth holding on to.

  • As we travel through the pages of life we sometimes lose ourselves in its different chapters, of scripted worlds woven by situations and associations. Some skim, some take pause, and some settle...until the heart forms the letters to create the words that urge us to resume writing our own stories. Between the lines and throughout our books we seek to document in rich detail the wonderful connections that keep us tethered to reality, such as those warm friendships that pull us back to a beautiful world like the setting of an irrepressible sun casting its striking hues.

  • At times, the shadows edge closer, bringing darkness to light. The question is, what do you look for with your viewfinder? Do you search the light or chase the shadows? For in that light I see togetherness, and that is something beautiful to witness. It was. It is. It still can.

  • When clouds gather and thunder rumbles... When it rains and then pours with abandon... When the winds howl and the storm rages on... Take shelter under your umbrella of faith, safeguarding the certainty that there is a promised dawn waiting for you. Create your own tales of recovery from the seastorms of life.

  • You are the captain of your own ship. Steer it with both heart and mind. Set a purpose, envision the journey, dream the destination, then start charting your own course. Prepare for unexpected winds and adjust your sails accordingly. When clouds obscure your cues, develop your own navigation system, calibrated by your values and inner beliefs. May your compass spin with aim on its bearings.

  • Cameras are to photographers what canvases are to painters. You sometimes wish that you could paint the sceneries you come across, but if your drawing skills are subpar at best, it makes you grateful for the existence of cameras.

  • You sometimes come across a whole new world, splendid in its entirety. The sights you see take you wonder by wonder. It's as if you're on a magic carpet ride, with a fantastic point of view. You're dazzled by places you never knew, with unbelievable sights stirring indescribable feelings, knowing there are a hundred thousand more things to see. Every turn is a surprise as you pursue new horizons, and you just know that's where you'll be, on a thrilling chase, in a wondrous place... (A lyrical inspiration)

  • You mount, you ride. You test the force of the wind and build momentum. You concentrate your mind to keep your balance. You keep yourself upright by the continual process of moving forward. There you go... Would you turn some unknown corners?

  • As the sun sank lower in the sky, the light of day gave way to a darkened canopy. Dusk descended with a musical silence, melody evident to those who took the time to listen, beautiful enough to ignite the heart of any nature's child.

  • Knowledge, commander of all things... Seek it out. Discover new ways of thinking. Create a world of questions and set yourself on a continuous learning journey. Knowledge is an acquisition that cannot be taken from you. You only need to use it well.

  • Come rain or come shine, keep your inner flame alight. Let the passion in your heart, the stars in your eyes, and the fire in your soul burn brightly. Flicker...cast shadows...but hold steady. Some things are not worth the candle.

  • Your heart is something precious. Do not let anyone make you feel otherwise. Within those chambers is a beating melody that should be treasured, a place to dwell in with utmost respect and care. Unlock your heart. You deserve a path free from those clouded thoughts that cause such turmoil. A loving heart is a gift. May they be worthy of that gift you bestow upon them.

  • It mattered not that the ship set sail without him. He did not mind getting left behind, or left alone. There is nothing like rising to the challenge of proving himself, to navigate the waterways of life and surpass all expectations.

  • Our descent into uncharted waters could make all the difference... Dreaming of achieving is the leaping of believing, of leaving that seeming preconceiving, scheming of appeasing the misbelieving, relieving the disbelieving, succeeding in releasing a reeling revealing, weaving and interweaving a new meaning.

  • She returned from lands far, far away from home, lands that felt just like home. The beautiful places and welcoming faces were wonders of their own to behold, leaving her with a pocket full of memories and a refreshed soul. Every step was a moment, every moment an experience, every experience a marvel. As she took in the sight of the last sunset, the gentle breeze carried her words across the lands: May we meet again.

  • You are here. They are there. And yet, you are together. Every once in a while, special souls enter your life. Strangers become friends become dear at heart. They are there when the sun rises and when the sun sets. You talk, laugh, debate. You respect them, trust them, love them, miss them. You find yourself making every moment count.

  • She was a thing of beauty with a slender profile, drawing in looks of admiration as she moved with confidence. He meandered by her side, unconcerned with the envious looks directed at him. No wind, no waves, yet he didn't need anything else than to be by her side. She was a gentle, considerate and playful soul. He was a kind, refined and attentive soul. She was his muse. He was her salvation. She didn't expect him to cater to her every whim. He never tried reining her in. An inferno quelled, a passion anchored, spirits content on a calm shore. Their love? Their own to give...a true gift of choice. (A horse & rider inspiration)

  • No clairvoyance or scrying is needed. Trust in those tendrils of thoughts that form the basis of your dreams, and set your passion alight like the blazing warmth of a sunset.

  • Take in the blaze of colors in the salty breeze as the sky casts a brilliant glow, the people's bursts of laughter creating waves of giddiness across the calm water, and the silhouetted gulls swooping in inverted arcs, crying out a rough melody. Feel the warmth, experience the moment.

  • He sat there silently, content in conveying colorful stories beneath his brush strokes. People did not always see him, but he was always there, working a message in each masterpiece: Take a look. The world is not devoid of colors.

  • One moment the clock is ticking, and in the next, time just vanishes like a magician's act. The vanishing part is an irrelevant blur; it's the act itself that is of value.

  • There are too many walls and not enough bridges today. Why are they so difficult to construct? Bridges are those visions built to find common ground, to reach one another's hearts, to facilitate that crossing which transcends politics and prejudice. It simply starts with extending a helping hand, a warm smile, a heartfelt word or two. There is something bigger out there. You see it in the special souls you meet. Beyond the virtual, across the oceans, borders and cultures, a world has come together as one. They call it a far-fetched dream, but I hold on to the hope that bridges will stop collapsing one day and hold steady the connections.

  • The heart gets found. To the people walking their own paths, spreading warmth and joy along the way. To the ones caught in a downpour but allow it not to affect their sunny dispositions. To the souls keen on giving, uplifting, embracing. To the bearers of love and positivity. May your hearts continue to serve as a reminder of what it means to be a real human being.

  • We grow up and learn to stand on our own two feet, but it's easier to walk forth with supportive people beside us. With that support, we are able to take in life's experiences and soar beyond the horizon.

  • They say the best things in life are free. Sure, some material possessions create happiness, but there's nothing like the raw things in life synonymous to that feeling. I think a smile is one of them—a powerful one. It comes during time spent with a loved one. It shows up during a glorious sunrise and a beautiful sunset. It emerges with a helping hand. It hits you when you're one with nature and all you want to do is write a message to the world inscribed in the soft sands of the beach.

  • We often find ourselves seeing things at surface point. Like daisies. We look at them as these fragile and delicate blooms, but forget to look at their core: a brazen fireball gifted from the sun. There's something beautiful in their daring simplicity, their relentless and unwavering spirit, going as far as growing in places they're not supposed to.

  • Study the rhythm before riding a wave. Only then will you be able to know when to build up speed and height to reach the crest, without losing balance.

  • The world is illuminated with many shades. There are streaks of good, just as there are streaks of bad. Those streaks of joy and happiness are to be made the most out of. It's what we do with the streaks highlighted in front of us that makes all the difference.

  • It could take a nanosecond, a few minutes or even days in which we suddenly zero in on things that cannot help but stand out. That moment of awareness, where the surroundings blur out around the focus point, cements the indisputable fact that we have found something worth our time and effort.

  • Sunsets could be interpreted as nature's way of illustrating our journeys in life. Sometimes they end with fiery skies, depicting wild paths undertaken, and sometimes, they end with peaceful tones, depicting calm roads and smooth transitions.

  • Some people you meet can only be defined as rays of sunshine, blanketing you with warmth through their heartwarming feedback, insightful thoughts and smile-inducing comments. To not have met them in real life does not disguise the enormity of such a feeling. I liken it to the sheer beauty and brilliance of a magnificent sunset. No sunset is the same, just as no friend is the same, yet they're all brilliant in their own ways. They differ in their colorful streaks, either contrasting the illuminated sky with blazing colors or calm serenity.

  • Heed the calls of your heart and open those chambers caged within to orchestrate the symphony of your life, letting the sound of your life force resonate around you. Strive to ignite your soul with your hopes and expectations by guiding your dreams like the unyielding rise of the sun. When you awaken your heart from its imposed slumber, navigate your course and seek the wonders this world offers with every heartbeat.

  • When your heart is too full, and your soul too warm, all you can do is bask in those feelings of gratitude and appreciation, and try to send out some of that warmth back.

  • Let your eyes take in the poetry around you. It could be the sight of a beautiful sky, the composition of a magnificent sunset, the balladry of birds, the hypnotic rhythm of the waves, or even a lone bucket abandoned on an empty beach.

  • He loved getting lost in fantastical worlds, all his senses engrossed in a book, mind captive, enthralled, envisioning...a magical realism far away from the verities of life.

  • Do not give up on your climb. Fashion a ladder of determination, stabilize it with a strong foundation of integrity, cling onto its rails of hope, and rise to the top with the right balance.

  • Life hits you with good surprises sometimes. Just as you wonder at the unexpected transformation of the caterpillar into a butterfly, that same kind of wonder immerses you when you get to know a person better - they are good, then great, and then they just become remarkable.

  • He made friends with nature, because there was something liberating in doing that. They were more than the fantastical pictures depicted in books he read as a child. In nature, he could be who he was, without any expectations.

  • Composed and unruffled on the surface, yet paddling hard underneath the water. What lurks beneath is not always apparent. Let the traits of tolerance, patience, and understanding consume you.

  • With a dazzling radiance caught in the moonlight glow, the lake appeared to be a perfect mirror for an enchanted world of make-believe, an invitation of wonders beyond comprehension.

  • Every once in a while, you come across souls whom you feel such kinship with almost instantaneously. Distance is not a factor, and that makes them special.

  • To anchor or not to anchor, To be in the calm or to be in the storm, To move with the wind or against the wind, To remain on shore or soar with the breeze, To find uncharted lands or stay on present ones... Now and then, those are the questions.

  • Some places are simply a canvas for the seasons. Come rain or come shine, they remain picturesque.

  • Some cities just spirit you away, and even in memory they become the wings that lift you high in the sky when you need to get off the ground.

  • When things go downhill, find a lift and rise to the occasion.

  • Saddle up, grab the reins and ride into the lands of your dreams, backed up by your horse sense and spirited heart.

  • May your boat of life be packed with hearty moments and find itself embraced by the warmth of the sun, floating on a sea of infinite possibilities.

  • Gravitate to levitate, motivate to elevate, orchestrate to stimulate, accommodate to alleviate, reciprocate to rejuvenate, communicate to resonate.

  • To not only walk the earth and swim the sea, but to have wings upon which endless possibilities rest...

  • The island was like an idyllic retreat in a picturesque setting, colors too perfect, yet so beautifully real.

  • Your recollections are different from the stills. Visit them often to keep the vividness of your experiences alive.

  • May we leave a blazing trail of light behind us as we venture forth into this world, illuminating, igniting, enlightening.

  • A scene is just a scene until you chance upon it, so beautifully real and vivid. Then it becomes an unforgettable one.

  • Some moments are simply golden. You just need the right perspective.

  • Listen, look, ponder. Raise, pose, propose. Let your thoughts take flight.

  • I love seeing kids responding to the calls of nature, to be left to their own figurative devices there rather than the literal ones.

  • Go forth towards those beacons that light up your life.

  • The early evening mist cast a brilliant radiance, slivers of colors abound in the forget-me-not scenery.

  • Swoop as a free soul above the infinite blue, your figure prominent across the vast skies, heart beating, lungs expanding, a soul simply living.

  • Find those rays that illuminate your lives, and hold on to them tightly. We all need that kind of warmth to keep us going.

  • Sometimes, you're just hit with ineffable natural beauty.

  • Leave in your wake paths of serenity and fine impressions, like ship trails on calm waters.

  • And the yellow ball of fire exploded into orange and merigold hues, merging with the skies and casting its majestic complexion onto the waters.

  • Advice from a Fox: Listen to your instincts, stay light on your feet, adopt a playful spirit, be bright-eyed, stop, look and listen.

  • Lose yourself in the moments that take your breath away.

  • Only you have the inner power to thrive and stand out in the environment you're placed in - don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

  • Embrace the darkness, for without it, one cannot truly appreciate the light.

  • In quietude, a moment of contemplation becomes a true moment of reflection, and realization settles. Drawn by their beauty, it suddenly dawns upon you...and you choose to chase those sunsets that emit such unparalleled warmth. They do, after all, have a way of lighting up your life. May 14, 2020

  • Like the transformative power of the butterfly, some changes reveal the beauty within. Cocooned in isolation, you can emerge a truer version of yourself.

  • There is a distinct beauty in the sight of houses standing shoulder to shoulder, firm against the changing winds of nature. In their architectural alignment, they become a picture-perfect example of unity no matter the obstacles.
